Question by Rooker: Why do they put some western teams in the east or other regional brackets?

Also, same with the eastern, southern, northern, and midwestern teams. For example, why is UConn over in the western bracket? They are a northern regional team. I mean, teams from different regions should be put in their respective regional bracket and not regional brackets that are not in their repective region.
Same thing goes to host cities as well.

They want teams to play against teams that they arent used to playing. It helps for ratings and to see how good you really are.
