How does Quicken Personal work with credit cards?

Question by Cold: How does Quicken Personal work with credit cards?
I put just about everything on my credit card, so programs with check registers are merely that, a check register. No breakdown of food, gas, clothing, entertainment, etc.
But does Quicken Personal somehow get "retrieve" your credit card information and separates it into categories?

I'm not familiar with the "Quicken Personal" term. I have been a long term user of Quicken however so I'm guessing what I know applies to the "personal" edition.
Quicken allows you the ability to download transactions posted to participating credit cards. You have to provided a user name and password for the credit card account. The transactions, once downloaded are identified in the account and you have to assign them to the correct category. If you are typical , many transactions posted will be a split transaction. I don't recall if they automatically assign categories, but if they do, the assignment would be tentative, subject to approval of the user.
Personally, I never use this feature since I input all transaction before they even appear with the creditor. Nevertheless, I have done the download a few times to confirm it does work
